Common Questions

Do I need to create an account?

No. SiBalance does not require user accounts.

You can create budgets and use the app without registering, signing in, or providing personal information.

Does SiBalance connect to my bank?

No. SiBalance does not connect to bank accounts, financial institutions, or third-party financial services.

You stay in control of every entry. Transactions can be entered manually, or SiBalance can create reviewable drafts from screenshots and CSV files. SiBalance does not connect to your bank.

How does Import from Screenshot protect my privacy?

Text recognition happens entirely on your device. The screenshot and recognised text are not uploaded, no external AI or analytics service is used, and the screenshot is not retained after the import. You review every detected transaction before anything is added.

Where can I get the CSV template?

Download the CSV starter pack, which includes a template, category reference and format guide. CSV import and export are included with SiBalance Full.

Where is my data stored?

Your budgeting data is stored locally on your device.

If you enable iCloud Sync, your budgets, transactions, categories, and settings can be securely synchronised across your Apple devices using your Apple ID.

Is iCloud Sync required?

No. iCloud Sync is completely optional.

If disabled, your data remains stored only on your device.

Does SiBalance use ads or analytics?

No. SiBalance does not use:

Can I use multiple budgets?

SiBalance supports unlimited budgets, allowing you to manage separate financial plans independently.

What is included with SiBalance?

SiBalance Free includes one complete budget, income and expense tracking, manual and recurring transactions, categories, Safe to Spend calculations, upcoming payments and quick views, complete transaction history, transaction and category search, and support for 159 currencies. No account or bank connection is required. There is no advertising or tracking.

SiBalance Full includes everything in Free, plus unlimited budgets, Goals, forecasting, Insights and trends, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, Themes and customisation, screenshot import, CSV import and export, iCloud Sync, encrypted backups, Apple Pay additions via Shortcuts, Siri and App Intents support, and iPhone and iPad support.

Does SiBalance support Face ID?

Yes. You can enable Face ID or device passcode protection from:

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Data → Delete All Data

Deleting data permanently removes all budget information stored within the app.

This action cannot be undone.

How do I enable Reduce Motion?

SiBalance supports Apple's accessibility settings.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Accessibility.
  3. Tap Motion.
  4. Enable Reduce Motion.

SiBalance automatically respects this setting.

How do I switch between List and Calendar?

Open Income or Expenses and use the List / Calendar switch. Each screen can have its own default in Settings. Calendar view follows the active budget period; select a date to see that day's total and scheduled entries.
